Bags to FALL for

Although I hate the cold weather, I absolutely love fall fashion. There are many cute outfit options that become available as the leaves change colors. One essential piece for a killer fall look, is your bag. I purchased my favorite brown faux leather bag from H&M three falls ago for only $35. So many people express their surprise that the purse is H&M because it looks so polished!

I'm sharing fall options for every budget below!

College Talks with Ashley from My Well Dressed Life

I'm heading off to college in just a few short weeks! It is crazy how much still needs to get done between then and now. Thankfully I'm not alone in the college transition process. I've been collaborating with bloggers heading off to college as well to get their tips on the college transition.  Today I'm collaborating with Ashley from My Well Dressed Life as she shares her top two tips!

1. Bring Cleaning Supplies
You have to remember that several other people before you have lived in this room before you, so you should give it a good clean before you begin moving your stuff in!

2. Check out J.C.Penny
The typical dorm shopping places are Target and Bed Bath and Beyond, but J.C.Penny has some great essentials that are good quality, affordable, and com in tons of colors!

I asked Ashley what she's most excited for entering college, and her biggest fear entering college. "I'm most excited to meet new people! My biggest fear is being homesick and missing out on moments with my family at home."

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

#Nsale... Need I say more? I'm sharing some of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale loves below!

One can never have too many pairs of booties! These gray Stuart Weitzman 'Perfection' Bootie is just that, perfection. The Louise et Cie 'Jael' Suede and Leather Shoulder Bag is the perfect pop of color for any fall outfit. Duck Boots are a MUST for winter.  Sperry makes a cute and affordable option to help keep your feet warm and dry in rain and snow.

I'm obsessed with the 'Waterfall' Drape Front Vest. It also comes in black and gray as well, and is a fun and versatile piece for fall.

Oversize scarves are the perfect way to bundle up, but still look cute, while battling cold weather.

I love versatile vests, they are the perfect added layer for a little extra warmth.

I LOVE these Tory Burch boots. One of my favorite pairs of boots of all time were exactly like these, they were my mom's boots, and I wore them until the heel wore out in London.

Memorial Day Outfit

I hope everyone had a blessed Memorial Day yesterday! I wanted to give you guys a little peak of what I wore yesterday to celebrate my friend's 18th birthday. It was a toasty day out, so I traded this outfit for a bikini mid-afternoon to cool off at the pool.

These J. Crew linen pants are so comfy and are perfect for beating the summer heat. They are elastic waist and fit like a dream. (Shout out to the top of Emmie Lou's head that made it into this picture...)

Wedding Season with Lulu's + Prom Pictures

Wedding season is finally upon us, and as more and more weddings are being added to the calendar, I can feel my bank account slowly draining. The pressure to purchase new spring dresses for each event is too tempting! Thankfully +LuLus.com has me covered with gorgeous inexpensive options.

Although prom season is now officially over, Lulu's is also the perfect place to find your dream prom dress. For my senior prom, I wore this Lulu's maxi dress in royal blue and received so many compliments. (I even got it on sale and with free shipping!) It ended up being FREEZING the night of prom so I was happy to have sleeves. It was so cold that I actually went numb, and sat in my car with the heat blasted for 20 minutes defrosting before driving to dinner!

Dinner prior to prom... It was so cold they enclosed and heated the patio!

Back to School Fashion with Madeline and Company

As hard as it is to admit it, school is back in session. Just a couple weeks ago I started my senior year of high school (AHHH!). Although I'm dreading the college process, I'm excited to see what the future has in store for me. Back to school can be more fun than ever with these adorable backpacks from Madeline and Company. Today I'm so excited to share my interview with Madeline from Madeline and Company on the blog! I think young entrepreneurship is one of the most inspiring things, and Madeline was so much fun to work with.

Meet Madeline:

Tell us a little about yourself!

I'm Madeline, and I'm a high school senior from the Midwest. I've always searched for a backpack that was cute yet functional, but I could never find the best of both worlds. I designed this bag so that it would hold all of my folders and binders plus my laptop. I included some of my favorite design details into each of the bags: color blocking, faux leather, stripes, and metallics.

Do you have any designers who influence you?

I love Kate Spade's whimsy, J. Crew's clean lines, and Lilly Pulitzer's colors!

What is your favorite part about having you own company?

Working with people across the country! It has been so fun to work with bloggers and YouTubers from both the East and West Coast; I would have never made these fabulous connections without Madeline & Company!
Also, it makes my day to read an email or comment or product review from a customer saying how much they like their backpack!

Do you have any advice for other young entrepreneurs out there?

Find a mentor! I have worked so closely with my Mom during this entire process. I never could have done it without her experience, expertise, and support. Your mentor doesn't have to be the CEO of a company or famous designer; it could be anybody that will support you and offer feedback.

What gave you the idea for the inspirational sayings found on each backpack?

Everybody can always use a little pick-me-up during the middle of the day! I think it such a fun idea to look down after a tough test or long class and see "laugh often" written on your backpack.

I saw on your website there was a section for clothing (!!) Can you give us a hint on what to expect?

Our goal is to launch that section around the holidays! I can't give too much away, but think party skirts and dresses– perfect for both school and holiday parties!

The September Issue: Vogue

Crisp pages that crinkle and crack with every turn as they are separated. From Ralph Lauren to Prada and Dior, just the first couple pages allude to its exclusivity. Could I be talking about anything other than the September Issue of Vogue? Nope... The release of the September issue is a holiday for a select few. For those working for Vogue, it means the first second to stop, breath and sleep in months. Every year it gets bigger and better, and this year was no different. Beyoncé graced the cover looking like a piece of art, but honestly when has B not looked like perfection? The icing on the cake, Amazon partnered with Condé Nast and made it even easier to receive this highly anticipated issue. Amazon will deliver it straight to your door in a limited edition custom VOGUE box.

Because I've been on-the-go all summer, I decided to pick up a copy at the nearest Target. Target was allowed early release rights of the magazine, and was released in stores on the 14th. The cashier checking me out laughed and joked that I must really like reading. He's not kidding! This September issue of Vogue is 832 pages of inspiration.

The issue over all was spectacular, the editorials were fun and fresh, and the ads featured the models who are most relevant today: Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Tavi Gevinson, Karlie Kloss and Margaret Zhang to name a few. Below are a few of my favorite spreads.

Pixie Madness

Another celebrity has traded in their locks for the newly trending pixie cut. Beyoncé is the latest to chop her long locks for a less high maintenance pixie.
Just because Beyoncé is the latest to sport the trend, doesn't mean she was the first.

This is what I want to know, will the every day girl chop her lovely locks for this new trend?
